What is DIANA?

DIANA is the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA), a NATO organisation with a mission to locate and accelerate dual-use innovation across the Alliance. DIANA provides companies with the resources, networks and guidance to develop deep technologies to solve critical defence and security challenges, from operating in denied environments to tackling threats to our collective resilience.

Emerging and disruptive technologies are vital to preserving our competitive edge in collective defence and security. DIANA exists to support the development of dual-use technologies and talent across the Alliance to reduce the risk of conflict, and minimise its impact.

DIANA works with a network of accelerators and test centres to connect end users with the best and brightest start-ups, researchers and technologists across 32 nations. Innovators participating in DIANA gain exposure to government and military buyers, investors and end users across the Alliance.

DIANA formally launched in 2023, and issued its first set of challenges shortly thereafter in June 2023. DIANA will continue to grow to support a wide range of innovators and challenges each year.
